El Paso Institute of Chess

EPIC is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation organized and operated for promoting the game of chess as an educational tool.

Our Mission

  1. to promote the game of chess;

  2. to broaden and develop chess as a learning tool, as art and recreation, and as a significant element of culture in El Paso, Texas; and

  3. to cooperate with schools, colleges, hospitals, military bases, community centers, recreation departments, and other groups and institutions, in teaching chess, conducting tournaments, and other activities.

Come to the Alameda campus every Thursday from 6pm – 10pm. Test your blitz skills in the #EPICThursdays tournament at 7:15 p.m., play a slow game, or just hang out and kibitz. Concessions available on site.
